10 Major Cognac Markets and The Shift In Demand

10 Major Cognac Markets and The Shift In Demand

Cognac demand has fallen by 6.8% worldwide in 2008. This is the first time cognac has seen a drop in sales in a few years and the main reason as you all know is due to global economic slowdown. Although cognac demand seems to be quite low at this point, we are sure as the economy revives the demand will grow back up. United States still is the largets importer of cognac and Singapore scores the second spot by importing 20.5 millions of bottles.

Below we have included the 10 major cognac markets along with number of bottles imported. If you look at the graph below it can be clearly seen that cognac is starting to thrive in Asian markets especially Singapore and China.

  3. United Kingdom

That is how the cognac market is looking at the moment. United States still is the biggest market but it seems like Singapore and others will be catching soon. Cognac demand seems to be growing in Asian markets. If you remember looking at the Singapore and China graph you can see the growth is pretty steady and quite huge in these two markets. Russia on the other hand seems to have dropped quite a bit. We are pretty sure the cognac demand will be back where it should be once the economy picks back up.
