7 Cognac Recipes To Choose From This Thanksgiving Day

It’s that time of year when we all get together and take the time to thank each other. In this day and age, our lives have become so busy that at times we overlook the simple things that makes us who we are. Our family, work, health everything else often gets overlooked and Thanksgiving day is the day when we bare it all. While you enjoy your turkey and some quality family time, we are sure you will be having a few drinks. We thought may be this thanksgiving day you should have a few more options when it comes to drinks besides wine. So here it is, seven cognac recipes that you can enjoy this thanksgiving day.

Cognac Summit

What you need

  1. 1 lime peel
  2. 4 thin slices for fresh ginger
  3. 40 ml (1.5 oz) VSOP Cognac
  4. 60 ml (2 oz) traditional lemonade
  5. 1 long piece cucumber peel
  6. 4 or 5 ice cubes

How To

  1. Place the lime zest and ginger slices in the glass
  2. Pour in 20 ml of VSOP cognac
  3. Lightly press the lime and ginger 2-3 times using a muddler to release the juice
  4. Fill the glass halfway with ice
  5. Stir well with a spoon for 5 seconds
  6. Pour rest of the VSOP cognac (20 ml)
  7. Add 60 ml of lemonade and cucumber peel
  8. Stir again for 5 seconds

Champagne Cup

What you need

  1. 1/2 oz White Curacao liqueur
  2. 1/2 oz cognac
  3. 10 oz Champagne

How To

  1. Pour the white wine and cognac into a wine glass
  2. Add couple ice cubes and fill it with champagne
  3. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of orange

Bonaparte Velvet

What you need

  1. 1 oz Mandarine Napoleon® orange liqueur
  2. 1 oz cognac
  3. 1 tsp Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur
  4. 3 tbsp vanilla ice cream

How To

  1. Add some ice in a highball glass
  2. Put the ingredients together and blend well
  3. Garnish with an orange slice
  4. Make sure to serve it with  straw

Cognac Sour

What you need

  1. 40 ml (1.5 oz) VSOP cognac
  2. 15 ml (1/2 oz) fresh lemon juice
  3. 15 ml (1/2 oz) cane sugar syrup
  4. 5 or 6 ice cubes

How To

  1. Place the ice cubes in the shaker
  2. Pour cognac, lemon juice and cane sugar syrup into the shaker
  3. Close the shaker and shake well until it is frosted
  4. Place a few ice cubes in the glass and pour in using a strainer

East India

What you need

  1. 35 ml VSOP cognac
  2. 35 ml fresh pineapple juice
  3. 5 ml orange curacao
  4. 2 or 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
  5. 5 or 6 ice cubes
  6. 1 orange slice

How To

  1. Place the ice cubes in the shaker
  2. Pour cognac, pineapple juice, orange curacao and Angostura bitters.
  3. Close the shaker and shake really well
  4. Garnish the drink with an orange slice

Sidecar

What you need

  1. 20 ml VSOP cognac
  2. 10 ml fresh lemon juice
  3. 10 ml triple sec
  4. 1 orange peel
  5. 5 or 6 ice cubes

How To

  1. Place the ice cube in the shaker
  2. Pour the cognac, lemon juice and triple sec
  3. Close the shaker and shake it really well
  4. Pour in a glass using a strainer
  5. Press the orange peel over the drink
