It’s time we let our readers and hundreds of visitors that come to cognac.com know that where we are headed in the coming months. As most of you already know we are the largest cognac site in the world (pat on the back). Although we don’t sell any products or make any money out of it, we are proud to be known as the leading site when it comes to cognac. The reason we decided to start cognac.com as a blog is to create awareness about cognac and other aspect of alcohol itself. We started the blog in December but started going full course since January of 2009 and since then we have grown tremendously. Today we get close to thousand visitors a day and for a site that specifically talks about cognac, that is quite an achievement.
We have had some ups and downs down the road but overall we have succeeded in what we had envisioned. We wanted to be the biggest site full of information for cognac lovers and anyone who wanted to learn about cognac. We are proud that we have been able to do so. Today we rank second on google for the term “cognac” right under the “Wikipedia entry.” Most of our visitors come to cognac.com to learn what cognac is all about. Standing on such a coveted spot on Google is quite an achievement. Our other notable achievement has been being mentioned on Digg a couple times. As most of you already know digg is one of the services that can drive thousands of visitors to a site and we have been able to tap that market as well.
At this point, we have our hands full. Although we will be running cognac.com as a blog we are planning on adding more features to the site soon. These features might be directly product related or not, we are still working on some things and will let you know soon all about it.At some point we would love to offer more than information on cognac and we are working towards that. If you have any suggestion please feel free to contact us. The other thing we have been able to create awareness of cognac is through the wonderful medium that we all know as twitter. Our twitter account has been one of the most important aspect when it comes to our success. We are also in talks with some cognac lovers on Facebook in regards to a Facebook page so we can let more people know about cognac and other aspects that surrounds this wonderful drink.
We will soon be announcing some major changes here on cognac.com. We are looking forward to how the changes will be seen. Meanwhile, if you have any suggestions please feel free to let us know. Your opinion and suggestion means a lot to us.
If you are interested in sponsoring cognac.com please send us an email at cognacblog(at)gmail(dot)com.

How much traffic do you get out of Twitter?
My website is doing each day better as well. About 100 (dutch) visitors a day for some time now.
Good luck with the site!
Cheers,

Thank you! We don’t use twitter specifically to generate traffic but more so to connect with cognac loving people and to talk about cognac to those who don’t know much about it.
We get anywhere between 60,000 – 100,000 plus each month although for some reason compete.com data seems to show much less than what it is.
