Eternal Ice Drop For Hennessey – April 2010

Eternal Ice Drop For Hennessey – April 2010

As most of you already know, cognac brands are trying to reinvent the market. They are trying to find ways to create awareness and generate wider appeal to one of the finest drinks. Recently the web has been buzzing with the news of what is known as “The eternal ice drop” created by 5.5 designers for Hennessey. As we have mentioned before, we aren’t against cognac cocktails or anyone who likes to add ice to their cognac, we personally don’t prefer it that way though. However, if that is something that helps you enjoy a fine drink such as cognac, go for it.

This new product created for Hennessey is something that you can call “reusable ice.” The word eternal kind of makes it obvious. Eternal ice drop is basically a spherical piece of glass that contains frozen water inside. A few people like there ice a certain way so that it takes up less room in the glass. The eternal ice for Hennessey will help them tremendously as it is designed to take up less room when added to the drink. Besides that, since the water is contained inside the sphere, it won’t affect the taste of your cognac as their is no water being added as would be the case with regular ice. It is also said that since the eternal ice helps the drink cool slowly it helps break some aromas of cognac.

Once again, we are not someone who would like to add anything to our cognac. We like to drink it the way it is, without adding ice or making cocktails. However, this does seem like a good option for people who like their ice perfect, want their drink to chill slowly and like to reuse stuff. Eternal Ice Drop for Hennessey is said to be on sale starting April 2010. At this point, all we can do is admire the design and see how cognac drinkers will react when it goes on sale this coming April.
