Kanye and Cognac : It’s The Class, Not The Glass

I am sure by now most of you have already heard of Kanye West (he is a rapper/singer if you don’t know who he is) making an idiot out of himself at the MTV VMA awards. I am not big on waching TV but some my friends had come over and they wanted to watch the awards show. We got our Courvoisier ready and started watching the show. That is when Kanye West’s reaction to Taylor Swift winning the award totally struck a nerve. If you haven’t already watched the video here it is.

Now that the social media platforms and the media is abuzz with Kanye’s behavior, a new reason is being given for Kanye’s atrocious behavior. The reason is called “Kanye and Cognac.” I suppose Kanye’s favorite drink is Hennessy VSOP and he had been drinking during the VMA awards. Well, first and foremost, a man of character knows that isn’t exactly an ideal place to drink. Him being a celebrity is no excuse either. The images shows Kanye drinking cognac straight out of the bottle, take a look

First off, we would like to advise Kanye and his friend that cognac isn’t a drink that you drink straight out of the bottle (here are some tips on drinking cognac Mr. West). Second, we would like to tell the entertainment industry that since celebrities are often seen as role models, they shouldn’t be allowed to drink freely during awards like these, especially if it’s being filmed.

No matter what anyone else says, getting drunk and being a celebrity isn’t an excuse to blurt out whatever you want. And who ever says Kanye’s outburst was due to him drinking cognac, let us say this

Cognac is  a wise man’s drink, not an idiot’s.

Also we have a request for Mr. Kanye,

Would it be possible for you to not drink cognac anymore. We hate to be associated with people like you.

Besides, drinking alcohol shouldn’t be an excuse for that kind of behavior. Some people have no class and blame it on the glass, not a good excuse. Here is another one of his meltdowns from 2007 where he said he would never return to MTV again,

   A drink is just a drink. No drink has class or inherently lacks class. A fine gentleman can brew moonshine and it won’t reduce him… a thuggish lout can empty the finest wine cellar in the world and he’ll be no more refined from the first to the last drop.

   The quality of a person is IN the person and cannot be attributed to what they happen to drinking at the moment anymore then wearing certain shoes will make you more intelligent.

   Kayne is an idiot no matter what he drinks. I actually think it’s funny that he drinks Cognac because he seems to think it makes him more noteworthy to drink expensive stuff instead of just crass.

   In any event, don’t worry about what the twits drink. It’s no reflection on anyone else.

    Him drinking it straight from the bottle was appalling. He has singlehandedly made a fool of Cognac and its’ prestige.

    I do not blame, in fact, I wholeheartedly agree the people from Cognac to have this “pretentious” moment. I highly endorse this post about calling out his behavior. Regardless whether they needed a reason.

    He had it coming, his attitude had always made an embarrassment of himself. Now, it’s utter humiliation. To think, that he had a tremendous following, myself included. Now he has completely embrace narcissism.

    I am disgusted by his demeanor and I hope that the people of Cognac would get their wish of not associated with people like him.

    While I believe it’s fairly stupid to ask someone not to drink or wear a certain something because it’s not “elite”, I still find it disgusting that these kind of ‘characters’ are the example of behaviour for society. Nowadays it’s about being a bad rapper, acting stupid, dressing even more stupid, and having a bunch of tits and ass around you. That will get you money.

    First, let me say I am not a Kanye fan, but I do admire his taste. Seriously, you lost me when you questioned what his fine specimen of an accomplice was wearing. She could be wearing garbage bags and it would amazing.

    Yeah, I know cognac is supposed to be classy, but you can still enjoy the female figure when it is displayed in a well-polished way.

    Kanye is just mad that every time he comes to TN something bad happens. Taylor Swift may have just put him over the edge. He came to my school (MTSU) and only 1,000 people or so showed up.     Can everyone (including Mr. West) get over themselves! Cognac is not a drink for the so-called ‘Elite’ or ’sophisticated’. A simpleton can drink Hennessy and an aristocrat can drink Kool-aid. Neither one of their IQ’s or social status will change after the first sip. It’s a drink, no more and no less. Some of these post might as well have been written by Mr. West with the amount of absurdity and ego displayed.

    Kanye West is someone with obvious emotional problems who just so happened to be drinking Cognac. He would still be an @$$ whether he had XO or a Chilly Willy.

    And for the record I’ve sampled ‘Yak’ out of nice gold tipped glass and most importantly straight out of the bottle. In both cases I enjoyed it the same. In fact, I think we all should try it ‘raw bottle’ as a Cognac bonding experience to let down some of the pretentiousness thats infiltrated our legion.
