A solution to the crisis involved grafting American grape vine root stock from Texas that were resistant to phylloxera onto the indigenous French vines, thereby creating phylloxera-resistant vines.
While the grafting solution worked better with Ugni Blanc vines, the Folle Blanche grape variety remains cultivated in Domaine de la Tour Vert, offering a unique taste that sets Guy PINARD & Fils apart from other cognac producers.
