Earlier this week, the House of Martell opened its panoramic bar rooftop bar at the Gâtebourse Tower in Cognac, France. The new Bar Indigo provides stunning views of the Charente River and the town of Cognac. Bar Indigo is the crowning achievement of the renovation of the Martell tower that began well over a year ago.

As part of the renovations, the Martell Foundation committed to showcase the craftsmen of the Cognac area that helped shape the Cognac industry. In keeping with that commitment, cabinets and woods used throughout the rooftop terrace came exclusively from French oak supplied by Cognac’s own Tonnellerie Leroi.

The bar serves a wide array of cocktails including the bar’s signature Indigo Collins cocktail made from Martell Blue Swift, buckwheat syrup, blackberry and lemon. Visitors can sample the entire range of Martell cognacs, including some not available for resale in France or elsewhere. Light bar fare is also available made at local shops from farms in the Cognac region.

Martell’s Bar Indigo is open from July 13 until September 30 daily from 5:30 pm to 1 am, and on Sundays from noon to 10 pm.
