The history of Cognac Moyet dates back to 1864 when a wine grower and distiller, Euthrope Moyet, founded the Moyet Company in Saint Sulpice de Cognac, near the city of Cognac. Moyet was already forty years old at the time, and with the help of his son-in-law Andre Tessier, he established a reputation for the company through the high quality of its cognacs.

Moyet’s dedication to quality and his flair for international commerce led to the company’s success, and its cognacs were soon being exported worldwide. However, over time, the company lost its commercial dynamism, and it was only through the careful stewardship of the different heirs that the tradition of producing the best quality cognac in the market continued until the late 1970s.

In 1978, Cognac Moyet was purchased by new owners who discovered a house that contained many treasures, including cellars still full of gorgeous antique cognacs. But the most valuable treasure of all was the irreplaceable traditional craftsmanship that had been passed down through only two cellar masters since the company’s founding.

Despite the passage of time, Cognac Moyet remained preserved from modernism, and its traditional approach to cognac production has been maintained to this day. The company’s commitment to quality is evident in every bottle of Moyet cognac.
