DeLuze Cognac: A Legacy of Passion and Savoir-Faire

The House of DeLuze has a long and illustrious history that dates back to the 17th century when Jean Bois-naud purchased land in Angeac-Champagne for his vineyard. Today, 24 generations of Boinaud wine-growers and distillers have continued to pass on their passion for cognac-making, ensuring that the DeLuze name remains synonymous with the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

In 1817, Alfred De Luze and his brother, Louise-Philippe, founded a wine and cognac import-export company in New York. Five years later, they established the company De Luze in Bordeaux, which would go on to become one of the most respected names in the cognac industry. In 1862, Alfred Luze purchased the Domaine du Chaigne in the Grande Champagne cru, marking the beginning of DeLuze’s journey as a producer of fine cognacs.

Today, DeLuze is headquartered in Angeac-Champagne, located just 7 miles south of Cognac. The company is proud to have its own cooperage, which produces and repairs barrels, as well as the largest distillery in the Cognac region, featuring 41 charentais pot-stills.

DeLuze’s range of Fine Champagne cognacs is made using eaux-de-vie from the growing crus of Grand Champagne and Petit Champagne. The company owns a 1,000+ acre vineyard in the Grande Champagne cru, which allows them to carefully select only the finest grapes for their cognacs. Their Fine Champagne cognacs contain 70% Grand Champagne eaux-de-vie and 30% Petit Champagne eaux-de-vie, which is a higher proportion of Grand Champagne eaux-de-vie than the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) requires to earn the designation of “Fine Champagne”.

DeLuze’s range of Fine Champagne cognacs includes the VS Fine Champagne, VSOP Fine Champagne, XO Fine Champagne, and Extra Delight Fine Champagne. The company also produces Alfred Fine Champagne, which is their “Avant-Garde” cognac named after their founder.

DeLuze’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship has earned them a well-deserved reputation as one of the premier cognac producers in the world. From their 1,000+ acre vineyard in the Grande Champagne cru to their state-of-the-art distillery and cooperage, every aspect of the DeLuze cognac-making process is infused with passion and savoir-faire. If you’re looking for a cognac that represents the best of the best, then look no further than DeLuze.
