Distillerie du Peyrat is a cognac house that has been crafting organic cognacs since 1998. Owned and operated by Jean-François Rault, this cognac house has been certified organic by ECOCERT and the USDA for their cognacs.

Distillerie du Peyrat’s organic cognacs are made from wine from their own organic vineyards and other organic vineyards in the Cognac region. Their headquarters are located in Houlette, near the Tourtrat River, in the Charente Department of France, about 10 miles northeast of Cognac.

Having cellars close to rivers is an important aspect of cognac production, as it ensures that the humidity level is high, providing ideal aging conditions. Distillerie du Peyrat’s cellars are located close to the Tourtrat River, much like the cellars of Château du Cognac.

Distillerie du Peyrat cognacs are aged in Limousin Oak barrels. The oak barrels give their cognacs a unique flavor profile and are integral to the aging process. The oak barrels give a natural sweetness to the cognac, and the longer the cognac ages, the more complex the flavors become.

Distillerie du Peyrat is committed to crafting organic cognacs that are true to their terroir. Their organic farming practices and use of organic vineyards ensure that the cognacs produced are of the highest quality. If you’re looking for a truly unique cognac that is both organic and full of flavor, then Distillerie du Peyrat should be on your list.
