Distillerie du Peyrat is a family-owned cognac house in Le Peyrat, a small village 10 kilometers east of Cognac, France, with a distilling legacy dating back to the early 18th century. Pioneers in organic cognac production since 1998, when Jean-François Rault converted their vineyards, they craft sustainable spirits from Ugni Blanc grapes grown on their Fins Bois estate and with trusted organic partners. Certified by ECOCERT and USDA, their range—VS, VSOP, XO, and beyond—features a signature “fatty distillation” process, yielding round, aromatic eaux-de-vie aged in Limousin oak. Now led by Rault’s sons, Antoine and Guillaume, the distillery balances tradition with eco-conscious innovation, producing about 160,000 bottles annually of vibrant, terroir-driven cognac.
