La Demoiselle

La Demoiselle, launched in 2022 by the Grand Cognac community, is a modern hybrid touring vessel that glides along the Charente River, offering visitors a two-hour journey through the heart of the Cognac region. Replacing the sunken La Gabare Dame Jeanne, this 22-meter aluminum boat, clad in wooden paneling, blends the flat-bottomed design of historic gabares with a sustainable electric-thermal engine, ensuring a quiet, eco-friendly ride for up to 69 passengers. Departing from Quai des Flamands, the narrated cruise to Saint-Brice showcases limestone cliffs, vineyards, and landmarks like the Château de Saint-Brice, immersing travelers in the area’s rich heritage and natural beauty. With tickets starting at resaonal rates and daily runs from spring to October (except Thursdays), La Demoiselle has quickly become a beloved way to experience Cognac’s timeless charm, drawing nearly 9,000 passengers in its first full season.
