Maison Brillet Cognac, a family-run estate in Graves-Saint-Amant, Charente, traces its roots back to 1656 when Guy Brillet installed his first alembic, launching a legacy of cognac production spanning ten generations. Situated along the Charente River, the house expanded in 1850 under Vivien Brillet, who relocated its stills and cellars, cultivating 65 hectares of vines in Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. Known for its traditional double-distillation process, Maison Brillet produces a range of cognacs—VS to Hors d’Age—emphasizing quality over ostentation, alongside Pineau des Charentes, a regional specialty they pioneered commercially. In 1985, Jean-Louis Brillet introduced Belle de Brillet, a celebrated pear-and-cognac liqueur blending Anjou Williams pears with the house’s eaux-de-vie, now a flagship under Rémy Cointreau’s ownership since 2020. This artisanal approach, rooted in terroir and heritage, delivers refined spirits with floral, fruity depth, cherished by purists and modern drinkers alike.
