Are you a cognac enthusiast who enjoys a quality organic cognac? Look no further than the House of Guy PINARD & Fils, founded in 1969 by Guy Pinard and his father George in the Fins Bois growing cru of the Charente, France.

Located in the Domaine de la Tour Vert, a vineyard that has been in operation on the outskirts of Foussignac since the early 17th century, the Pinard father and son team established a 22-hectare organic vineyard that is now run by Chantal Pinard and her son Jean-Baptiste.

The House of Guy PINARD & Fils produces a wide range of quality organic cognacs that are sure to satisfy the palates of any connoisseur. These include a VS (three years old), V.S.O.P (six years old), Cognac Napoleon (at least ten years old), and Cognac XO Folle Blanche (made from Folle Blanche grapes).

What makes the House of Guy PINARD & Fils unique is their use of the Folle Blanche grape variety in their vineyards. This grape was one of the original grapes used for making cognac starting in the 17th century. However, in the mid and late 19th century, a phylloxera crisis struck the region, wiping out much of the vineyards in the Charente. A solution to the crisis involved grafting American grape vine root stock from Texas that were resistant to phylloxera onto the indigenous French vines, thereby creating phylloxera-resistant vines.

While the grafting solution worked better with Ugni Blanc vines, the Folle Blanche grape variety remains cultivated in Domaine de la Tour Vert, offering a unique taste that sets Guy PINARD & Fils apart from other cognac producers.

But the House of Guy PINARD & Fils doesn’t stop at cognac. They also produce three organic Pineaux des Charentes, including a Pineau Blanc, a Pineau Rosé, and a Très Vieux (very old) Pineau.

So if you’re looking for a quality organic cognac that embodies the rich history and unique flavors of the Charente region, be sure to try Guy PINARD & Fils. With a commitment to organic farming and a dedication to producing high-quality spirits, you won’t be disappointed.
