Raymond Ragnaud is a name synonymous with tradition and excellence in the world of cognac. For over 150 years, the Ragnaud family owned and operated a vineyard in Grande Champagne, one of the most prestigious regions in the Cognac appellation.

The story began in 1860 when the vineyard was first established. It was passed down from generation to generation until it was taken over by a new lineage determined to continue the work undertaken by its founders. In 1920, Paul Ragnaud moved to the Château d’Ambleville, the current headquarters of the company. His son Raymond then created the Raymond Ragnaud brand in 1941 and started selling his cognacs in bottles.

After Raymond’s death in 1963, the dynasty’s female figures began a journey of nearly 60 years. His wife took over the business and, through successive purchases, increased the size of the vineyard to 47 hectares on the properties of Ambleville and Criteuil-la-Magdeleine, as well as on Lignières-Sonneville. She also began to develop exports. In the 1980s, her daughter Françoise joined the company.

At the end of the 2010s, the absence of a successor within the family forced Françoise Ragnaud-Bricq to pass on the House. Anxious to continue the story, a new family was needed to take over and continue the adventure of Raymond Ragnaud cognacs. The new owners are passionate and determined to preserve the principles and to further develop the reputation of the House throughout the world. They are very attached to the tradition and the French art of living, and they are not starting from a blank page. They want to write the continuation of this odyssey of taste and refinement which began in 1860.

Today, Raymond Ragnaud cognacs are a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of the Ragnaud family. The House offers a wide range of cognacs, from the VSOP and XO to the extra-old, and each one is a work of art in its own right. The cognacs are made using traditional methods and aged in oak barrels, giving them their unique flavor and aroma.

The Raymond Ragnaud House is a perfect example of how a family’s dedication and passion can create a legacy that lasts for generations. Their cognacs are a tribute to the rich history and tradition of the Cognac region and a testament to the Ragnaud family’s commitment to excellence.
