Larsen Cognac, founded in 1926 by Norwegian adventurer Jens Reidar Larsen, is a distinctive cognac house rooted in the Charente region of France, blending Scandinavian spirit with French craftsmanship. After settling in Cognac following a journey from Tromsø, Larsen established his legacy by acquiring the Joseph Gautier company, creating a brand dubbed “The Cognac of the Vikings,” symbolized by its iconic Viking ship bottles. Today, run by the third generation of the Larsen family—Frederic, Nicolas, and Anne—the house sources eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and Fins Bois, employing a meticulous double distillation process without lees to preserve fruity elegance, followed by aging in lightly toasted Tronçais oak barrels.
