At the age of 24, a young Norwegian sets out to explore the world and leaves his homeland on a ship headed for the Americas. However, due to a long layover in Bordeaux to fix the ship, his life takes an unexpected turn. Determined to earn money before continuing his travels, the young man, named Jens Reidar, finds work in a small town renowned for its high-quality eau-de-vie. Here, he falls in love with a local woman and decides to make Cognac his home. Jens Reidar develops a passion for cognac and the variety of soils used to produce it. He becomes an expert, learning the secrets of the cellar masters and exploring the treasures of their cognacs. In 1926, his experience leads to the creation of the original signature of Larsen Cognac.
